Description

At Clyde Machine, we have versatile capabilities in the area of laser cutting. We operate two dual-axis fiber lasers, a 2kW model capable of producing high-quality parts at remarkably fast cutting speeds, and a powerful 9kW machine equipped with automated material handling to allow for high capacity, lights-out production. Using both devices, we generate parts with complex geometries, finely detailed features, and excellent edge quality. We leverage precision laser cutting as part of our overall metal fabrication services, for making prototypes, and for production-level processing of 2D sheet metal parts.

Materials we commonly process in our laser department include aluminum as well as stainless steel, steel alloys, and other ferrous metals. We can cut thin sheet down to 0.032" gauge and plate measuring up to 1.25" in thickness. Maximum sheet size is 72" x 144", and we easily adjust for smaller sheet sizes. Featuring advanced motion systems and precise beam profiles, these lasers make narrow kerf cuts down to 0.002" and obtain consistent dimensional accuracy with tolerances as close as ±0.001". We use nesting software to generate layouts that maximize material usage, which results in significant cost savings when the volume is high. Because no tooling is needed, laser cutting is also suitable and affordable for low volume or limited-run projects.

We supply custom laser cut parts and fabricated products to OEM customers in a wide variety of industries. With our history as a global provider of aircraft ground support equipment, we have experience manufacturing complex, high caliber products that set the industry standard for quality. We process low to high volume orders with short lead times and deliver them on schedule.
